Most frequent questions
What maintenance does a Quooker system require? MaintenanceA Quooker system does not require preventive maintenance. However, if you live in an area with hard water, the Quooker system will require some attention during its lifetime. In areas with hard water, you will become aware of limescale build-up when the flow of boiling water starts to slow down. Every Quooker tap is therefore fitted with a removable nozzle and aerator. When you notice that the flow of boiling water slows down, remove the nozzle and soak the aerator in cleaning vinegar for about one hour. Then rinse off the limescale and screw the nozzle with the aerator inside, back onto the tap. This should increase the water flow.If the Quooker system still doesn’t provide an optimal flow of boiling water, limescale may have built up in the tank. This means that your tank may need to be cleaned. If this is the case, please contact our service team by completing the service contact form. Our team will then get back to you and will help you find the right solution for your situation.
Can I change the HiTAC® filter myself? Maintenance
The HiTAC® filter inside the boiling water tank improves the taste of the water. This carbon water filter removes contaminants and impurities from your water. The carbon absorbs chlorine, certain pesticides and organic pollutants, improves taste and eliminates odours and discolouration.
You can order the filter via our webshop.
Please note that the internal HiTAC® filter is not a limescale filter. For more information on how to manage limescale, please refer to the corresponding question in our FAQs: What maintenance does a Quooker system require?
