  • Why does the Quooker COMBI carry an A label? Energy label

    In order to verify the calculations conducted, a practical test is conducted on the energy efficiency of the Quooker COMBI tanks. The report with the detailed results from this test, conducted in accordance with the standard ‘NEN-EN 50440 Efficiency of domestic electrical storage water heaters and testing methods’ can be requested from Quooker.

    Quooker COMBI tanks are products that delivery hot water as well as boiling water. Because the COMBI tanks comply with these requirements, they fall into the category "boilers" and it is mandatory to label them. 

    The energy label an appliance carries depends on its energy efficiency. Due to the energy loss in the generation of energy in power stations in 2015, an electrical appliance can achieve a maximum energy efficient of 40%. The energy loss (non-beneficial use of the energy) that an appliance suffers, in Quooker’s case the standby power consumption, reduces this efficiency still further. Because a Quooker is fitted with high-vacuum insulation cladding, the energy loss is only 10 watts. Due to this, the total energy efficiency for the Quooker tanks is 36% and this results in an A label for the Quooker COMBI tank in the XXS category.

  • I have noticed you have a COMBI, what is this? General

    The COMBI, unlike the PRO series of VAQs, dispenses exactly the required amount of 100°C boiling water, whilst also providing an instant supply of hot water at 50-65°C, all of which operates from a cold water feed only.

  • The inlet combination valve (pressure release valve) is releasing water. Troubleshooting

    It is normal for the inlet combination valve to release drips of water while the tank is heating water. This is expansion water released from the tank to regulate the pressure inside the tank.

    If the Quooker has been fitted recently and the valve is releasing a continuous flow or spurts of water, please check the incoming water pressure. The ideal incoming water pressure for the Quooker is 2-3 bar. If the pressure is too high, the valve will release more water in order to keep the pressure inside the tank at a safe level. A pressure reducing valve can be fitted to reduce the pressure to 2-3 bar.

    If the Quooker has been fitted for a while and the valve has recently started running continuously (rather than dripping), some debris or scale may be caught inside the valve. Please try flushing the valve through as follows:

    Switch off the tank by pressing the Q-shaped button on top. Run the boiling tap for a few minutes until the water runs cold. Place a container under the valve and turn the large red cap (10 bar valve) or large grey cap (8 bar valve) anti-clockwise until you hear a click. Water will be released from the valve in a quick gush. Repeat this several times before switching the Quooker back on.

  • I have a COMBI Quooker and my mixer tap only produces lukewarm water. Troubleshooting

    The COMBI mixer valve has two settings (coming from Dutch): K for koud (meaning “cold”) and W for warm. Please try adjusting the temperature setting on the mixer valve by turning the dial towards W. Please refer to the installation guide for the location of this mixer valve.

    If the mixer valve is turned all the way to the W setting and the hot water is still coming through lukewarm or cold, check if there is a light on the tank. If the lights are off, please press the Q-shaped button on top of the tank to switch the Quooker back on. If the lights still do not come on, unplug the Quooker and check the electrical supply socket by plugging in another appliance. If the socket is working, please change the fuse in the Quooker's plug, then plug it back in again and try pressing the Q-shaped button on top of the tank again.
