  • Does Quooker provide filtered cold water? General

The Cold Water Filter has been designed to allow you to quickly switch from tap water to cold filtered water. Any new Fusion or Flex will now be able to supply cold filtered water via a single push and turn which when engaged will light the tap ring blue. The water passes through an activated-carbon filter which ensures the water tastes and smells better.

With the new CUBE, you can now also dispense sparkling and chilled water from the Quooker tap. Click here to read more.

  • I live in a hard water area and wonder if limescale is a problem? Algemeen

Without a doubt a build-up of limescale can adversely affect many of our kitchen appliances. Dishwashers, washing machines and boiling water taps are perhaps the most obvious, but limescale is also a problem for steam ovens, irons, steam cleaners, sinks and taps; and even sanitary ware and shower screens.

We have a strangely complacent view of our water quality as a nation. When you consider that we pay not inconsiderable sums for a clean drinking water supply, it is remarkable how little we demand from the water providers in terms of quality in return for our hard earned money.

At Quooker we go to some lengths to tackle the limescale problem. Depending on the type of Quooker tank you have, it may be possible to self-service your Quooker. We can send you a kit that you can use yourself or give to your own installer to complete a descale of your Quooker. Or you can call in one of our own dedicated experts to descale your Quooker for you. If you contact our Service Dept with the serial number of your Quooker (starting VC or CC on the side of the tank) we can advise of the available options.

Now we've gone a step further and done what we think the water companies ought to be doing. We've developed a scale filter - the Quooker Scale Control - that you can fit to take out the excess limescale before it reachs your Quooker tap, making it very low maintenance indeed. It can be used equally well with an existing tap or a new one and removes the need for regular internal maintenance. All you will need to do is change your Scale Control cartridge perodically, depending on the hardness of your water supply and usage.

For service advice, contact our Service Department on via our request form or 0207 9233355 (select option 3 for Service). Please have your serial number ready (starting VC or CC on the side of the tank) so we can advise you correctly.

  • Can the Quooker be connected to softened water? Installation

You may connect the Quooker to softened water as long as the water supplied to the Quooker meets the below criteria:

Water Supplied to the Quooker must be potable within the limits of the Ireland drinking water regulations. Your supplier would be able to confirm that.

Minimum water pressure of 2 bar (ideally 2.5 – 3 bar)

Ph value of the water of between 6.5 and 9.5 with no excessive salt.

Alternatively, you can fit the Quooker to the hard water supply and either periodically service the Quooker system or fit our Quooker Scale Control to it.

  • My Cold Water Filter is producing a beeping sound, what is it? Maintenance

    Cold Water Filter Replacement Reminder

The previous lifespan of a cold water filter cartridge was 6 months. The product has recently been improved and the lifespan has now been extended to 12 months and the price of the cartridge will remain the same.

Unfortunately the in-built timer will still sound after 6 months.

If you press and hold the button on the top of the cold water filter for 15 seconds, you should hear a double- beep and the flashing red light will disappear. This will reset the alarm for a complete 6 months.

Please keep in mind as the cartridges now last 12 months the next time it beeps you should press and hold the button to reset it once more without changing the cartridge.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
