When you visit our website, you leave personal data with us. Personal data are all data that can be traced back to you as an individual, such as your name or email address that you leave behind when you fill in a contact form on our website or your browsing behaviour on our website. We can imagine that you would like to know why we need these data and what we use them for. We explain this below. If, after reading this, you still have questions, let us know by contacting our customer service or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
How Quooker protects your data
We use various technologies to protect the personal data you leave with us. We also ensure that, at Quooker, only the people who need your data can access them. We make sure, for instance, that people who have nothing to do with your data also cannot access them. If we provide your data to someone else - you can read below why and when we do this - we demand that this other party handles your data as carefully as we do and that they only use the data for the purpose for which they have received them. If you get the sense that this is not the case, please let us know via our customer service or email@example.com
What data of yours does Quooker use and why?
We use your data for various purposes. We explain these purposes below. In this context, we use data received from you, but also data we have collected. For example, data on your visit to our website.
Registering a Quooker
If you purchase a Quooker, you can register it on our website. By doing so, you register your Quooker for the standard two-year guarantee and we save these data on our service database so that we can easily provide service in the future.
We need these data so that our service department can quickly help you with any problems or questions. From the data filled in by you, they can immediately see which reservoir and tap you have so that they can provide you with an appropriate solution more quickly. The data you fill in with us for this are your name, desired form of address, email address, address, telephone number, the serial number of your Quooker, whether it was installed as part of a new kitchen or fitted into an existing kitchen and where and when you purchased the Quooker.
We want to be able to provide you with the best service. That is why we save your data as long as you own a Quooker and, therefore, remain our customer. If ten years pass without any contact with you, we delete your personal data. You can also contact us at any time to have them deleted earlier.
Service contact form
If you have questions about your Quooker or a problem arises for which you need our help, you can contact our service department using the service contact form. When filling in this form, we ask you for various data, specifically your name, desired form of address, email address, address, telephone number, serial number of your Quooker, type of tap and finish, whether you have a guarantee on your product, the installation date of your Quooker and, of course, what you need our help with.
As is the case when registering your Quooker, we also save the data from the service contact form in our service database. This ensures that our service department has all the information at hand to provide you with the best assistance. We save your data as long as you remain our customer. If ten years pass without any contact with you, we delete your personal data. You can also contact us at any time to have them deleted earlier.
When you register your Quooker, you can indicate whether you would like to receive our newsletters. If you give your consent for this, we will send the newsletter to the email address you have provided to us. This keeps you up to date on new applications or products for you and your Quooker. If you no longer want to receive newsletters from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ button in the newsletter or by contacting our customer service.
Leaving a message
When you visit our website, you can leave a message if you have a question, for instance, or want to post a review. To ensure that we can answer your question, we ask that you provide us with your name, email address and sometimes your telephone number. We use these data only to contact you about your message. These messages and data are saved until your question has been answered, after which we delete your data.
Business customers and kitchen dealers
We also save the data of the contact people at our business customers and partners. If these are data pertaining to persons, we treat them the same as the data of other customers.
Improving the website
To ensure that our website is working properly for you, we collect your IP address, information about your internet browser, any language settings and information about the operating system settings of the device you use to visit our website.
Service is our number one priority. We therefore want to ensure that our website is as user-friendly as possible and that you can quickly find the information you are looking for. That is why we collect information on what you search for and click on on our website. We use these data so that we can determine an average customer pattern which enables us to improve our website; individual customer behaviour is not our focus, therefore. This allows us to make the most frequently visited pages the easiest to reach, for instance.
With whom are your data shared?
If you have registered your Quooker or filled in the service contact form, we save this information in order to provide you with service of course. If you have a problem in the future with which we can easily help by sending an item, for instance, such as an extra manual or a new filter, then we share your address details with our distribution partners such as PostNL and DPD so that the parcel arrives at your location.
If we need the assistance of other parties for various things, these parties sometimes need personal data for this. We only share these data if it is necessary to achieve the set goal. We never sell on your data and we make sure that the third parties with whom we share them handle your data as carefully as we do by making agreements on this.
We may sometimes be required to pass on personal data to the government. This can occur when government agencies, such as the tax authorities, need the data in order to carry out their duties. The police or justice department may also need certain data in the event of fraud or abuse. Finally, certain supervisory authorities may sometimes be given access to personal data in the context of investigation.
Are your data incorrect, do you want to inspect them or do you have other questions?
We keep your personal data. You therefore have the right to an explanation on what personal data we have and what we do with them, the right to inspect what personal data exactly we store in relation to you, the right to amend your personal data if they are no longer accurate, the right to have your personal data deleted and the right to withdraw your consent for the newsletter or the placement of cookies, for instance. If you wish to exercise one of these rights, to amend your personal data because they are no longer accurate, for instance, please don’t hesitate to contact our customer service or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, where you can also ask other questions. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, and always within one month.
We do need to be sure that it is actually you making the request when you ask to inspect, amend or delete your personal data. To be certain of this, we ask that you send a copy of your identification along. In this copy, please be sure to block out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number. We do not need that information. We will also immediately delete this copy after we have answered your request.
If you do not agree with how we handle your data, we would prefer to resolve the matter amicably, so please contact our customer service. However, you also have the option of submitting a complaint to the national supervisory authority.
The privacy statement above applies for all our locations and legal forms.
